Wow, I've been away for a while. Two weeks to be exact. The gf came out for a visit after she left Japan (a month after I left). We hadn't seen each other in 6 weeks, so it was great times. Since I live so close to such a big city, the opportunity to play DC tour guide also allowed me a chance to tour myself. I've already done much of what there is to do here, but not for a long while thanks to the whole mentality of "if you live near it, you'll never see it." It's usually more worthwhile to spend extra time off going to see something you can't see any other day.
She'd only been here once before, while passing through a couple years ago, and thus could only go to a couple museums... out of the dozens that we have, and that's not even including the monuments and government buildings. So we had busy days, but it was great.
Anywho, I'm back now. And looking for a job. I'd love to move back to Chicago, but going out to DC so many times over the last couple weeks has really increased my fondness for the city. I don't think I'd mind living out here after all, despite its near proximity to my family. After all, the nearest county has the highest average income in the country and only like the 11th highest cost of living... would be very beneficial to my aching wallet. Plus, she'd like to move out here too, which is also great (her family lives in Vegas).
So that's that.
Also, since everyone's posting about the bailout...
